9 Months

I'm a little late, but my babies are now 9 months old! Right now they are the same length and still about 1 1/2 lbs apart in weight. They are learning and growing so much each day it amazes me. They are both crawling all over the place. Kegan started crawling first about a month ago. Braden had the army crawl down pat. He could get around pretty well doing it, but had some nice rug burns on his forearms and legs. He slowly started crawling more and more. Once he became better and faster at it, he slowly gave up the army crawl. Kegan loves having him crawl at his pace now. I love to see him turn around to make sure Braden is still following him. It is so funny! They are really playing well together now and are best buds. They are also partners in crime. We thought we had the house pretty well baby proofed, but they have shown us all the holes. They climb and stand up to everything they can. They are both starting to eat more "real" food. Kegan is still kind of picky when it comes to textures. Anything super thick makes him gag. He loves water though. He gets so excited when I get his sippy cup out. Braden is the funniest eater I've ever seen. The whole meal he moans like it is the best thing he has ever had. (Brian Regan ringing a bell to anyone??) He loves just about anything too. Except fruit. He will eat it baby food style and he will suck the juice but that's about it. They both are quite the talkers and make some pretty funny noises. It is funny to hear them babble back and forth at home, but at church is a different story. They really like to participate in deep doctrinal Sunday school lessons. I could go on and on about these two boys. They have completely captured my heart! I just love them and couldn't be happier being a stay at home mom to them. What a lucky girl I am!

The Big Move

We are back in Idaho! This past month and a half has been a whirlwind. Right before Christmas we found out Ryan would be starting his job a month earlier than we were planning on. Since we were headed up for the holidays anyway, we made a house hunting trip out of it. It was busy! We did a lot of looking online before we went though and had a pretty good list. There was one house that was a 10/10 in our book from the very start, and we never found one that came close to it. So we put an offer in on it and I'm sitting in it right now. I LOVE IT! At least once everyday Ryan and I say something about how perfect it is for us. I love the area and neighborhood, the layout, the colors, the design... Did I mention I love it? I love that I don't share walls with neighbors and the boys have room to crawl around. It has made life much easier! I could probably go on and on, but you get the idea. I like it.
As much as I love being here, we were sad to leave good ole' Utah county. We already miss our friends and all the fun things to do there. I miss working as a nurse at the hospital. I really loved my job and all the people I worked with!
Since no one was living in the house, we were able to close pretty fast. We closed on the house on the 18th of January. The best part was that all our stuff was already in it! The builder let us keep our stuff in it to avoid a storage unit. It arrived on Saturday. We were still in the process of checking out of our apartment and driving up here so we weren't there for the big day, but my dad took some pictures for us. We had about 5 days to get all settled before Ryan started his new job. That was a huge help!
For those that don't know, Ryan got a job as a Civil Engineer at the Naval Reactors Facility on the Idaho National Laboratory. He is really liking his job and has adjusted to the long days very well! He has been able to sleep the hour there and back which has helped. (For all you Utah people- the INL is one of the main employers of Idaho Falls. It is about an hour west of Idaho Falls so you either have to drive or they have a ton of buses that take people out there. There is a bus stop just down the street which is nice.) He has every other Friday off and then gets home early on the one he doesn't have off. I love that! It has been hard having him gone so long because I was really starting to get used to having him around. But I love being home with the boys! They had some rocky nights in the beginning, especially in the hotel. But they are slowly getting back to the old sleeping patterns. Like I said before, they love the space and are constantly exploring everything.
