Mother's Day

Then after our anniversary we had Mother's Day! I sure love being a mother to these two cuties. Ryan helped them get me a new skirt and make me some cute cards. I had the boys on Mother's Day two years ago and kept thinking back to that day. I had no idea how much I would change and how different my life would become.  I am so blessed to be able to stay home with them each day. There is nothing better than a big hug or just hearing them call me mommy. I love being a mom!

5 Years

Two days after the boys birthday Ryan and I celebrated 5 years! (I think I will forever confuse the boys' birthday and our anniversary dates). It has been the best 5 years of my life. I am married to one amazing guy. He bends over backwards to make me happy. I am so blessed to have him. He surprised me with a shirt that I had been "hinting" at for a while. We also went out to dinner and a movie which we never do. It was fun to get out, but we both agreed that we enjoyed it probably as much as ordering a pizza and watching Castle on the couch together. I can't think of a more perfect match for me. Love you Ryan!

I have two two year olds!

The day after our temple trip with John, we celebrated the boys' second birthday!  I had been trying to teach them the Happy Birthday song and we had practiced blowing out pretend candles after we sang so they did pretty good!

 During the day I took them to the dairy to see the animals and get a treat. John, my mom, and I had been giving tours all week so we taught them all our dairy knowledge.

 We didn't get a picture of them and their loot, but trust me they got spoiled. Ryan and I got them these balance bikes. It is sure cute to watch them ride.

 We also got them some trucks which never leave their sides.

I love these two boys and can't believe they are two already!

Elder Dahl

The beginnig of May was very busy for our family! There was one week that we had something big almost every day. It started out by a wonderful trip to the temple as a family. My little  brother (I think I will always refer to him as my little brother) was able to go to the temple for the first time. It was such a neat experience to be in there together as a family. John leaves for his mission in one week from today. It makes me ill thinking about him leaving. He has been my go to for most activities, babysitting, boredom, interesting news, sports info... I'm sure after he leaves I will accidently snapchat his phone a few times just out of habit. I know Braden and Kegan will miss him like crazy. They love their uncle John. It is weird to think that they will be 4 when he gets home!
That being said, the people in Bolivia have no idea what is headed their way! John is going to be an amazing missionary. On Sunday he gave his "farewell" talk and I couldn't have been more proud. He has such a strong testimony of the gospel. I know he is going to change many peoples lives in Bolivia. I'm glad my boys have such wonderful examples in their lives. Even though I keep saying that I don't want him to leave because I will miss him way too much, I am so glad he is making this choice to serve The Lord for two years.

Arizona

After we got back from Moab, we had a couple days at home then were off again. We had booked flights to Mesa to visit Ryan's sister and her family. We had been planning this for a long time, but of course things never go quite as you plan. A couple days before we were to leave, Kegan got sick. I will spare you the details, but it was bad. I was terrified at the thought of sitting with him on my lap for 2 hours. The night before we were going to leave, we went to the store to pick up a few things. In the middle of Albertsons, Braden started coughing and not looking too hot. I told Ryan to hurry and run him outside. But, we weren't fast enough. He lost it all over the beer and wine isle. It was one of those parenting moments that I just kept thinking "someday I will find this humorous right?".

After we made it home, Braden further initiated me into the motherhood club by losing it again all over me. It was the most direct hit I have ever taken. Lovely.

After cleaning everything up and getting the boys to sleep in their beds I wanted to cry. We had this wonderful trip planned the next day, we hadn't even begun to pack, and I had two sick boys. Ryan called the airline and talked to some robot human beings with no feelings that pretty much said we could switch our flights in exchange for our firstborn. Not happening. We started to pack, and got into bed way too late.

A few hours later, I was awake-sick and made my bed next to the toilet.

I think you get the picture. Our trip did not start off as planned. Before we had even made it through security Braden had thrown up 3 times. I literally was carrying a paper cup around attempting to catch my almost 2 yr olds' vomit. I'm sure the other passengers couldn't wait to get on a plane with us. Especially since it was a full flight, and Ryan and I can't sit by each other (there can only be 1 lap child in a full row).

Luckily there was a break in the clouds. There was an empty seat so we were able to sit in the same row as each other. As soon as the plane took off both boys fell asleep. Miracle? Yes.

As we landed we figured we should warn Ryan's sister. She came to pick us up prepared. This is how Braden rode around everywhere. 

Thankfully Kegan was fine after the travel day. Braden was still off, but much better! They were able to enjoy playing with their cousins outside in the gorgeous weather.

Moab

Since my brother is leaving on his misson in a month, my family took one last big trip. We went to Arches National Park. We had never been down there, but I already can't wait to go back. It was so much fun! There are so many neat things to see! We could've spent a lot of time down there seeing all the amazing arches, and going on the hikes. I took a million pictures! It was a little chilly (we are wearing our sweatshirts in just about every picture). But I guess that is better than the scorching heat that they can have down there.

 

My Dad rented a 15 passenger van so we all rode together. We stopped at Krispy Kreme in Layton on the way.

 We went mountain biking near Dead Horse Point. It was a blast!

My family rented a big house in Moab to stay in. It was really nice! I was certainly jealous of the theatere room. It was way better than cramped hotel rooms! Thanks for planning such a fun trip Dad!

April

These are just some random pictures from April.

The boys have decided their poppers (as we call them) make perfect vacuums. The second we got home from church Kegan cleared the rugs, stool, and garbage can out and got to work. It must have been really bad in there...

We got started on our fence!! They delivered the materials early in the morning so we had to watch in our jammies from the window. The boys thought it was was pretty exciting. I cannot wait to have a fence!!

We got a sandbox! They boys didn't really like the sinking feeling of walking in it at first, but now they love it.

 

 

Hide and Seek is easily one of our favorite games around here. Kegan could play it for hours. He thinks he is a pretty good at hiding. It cracks me up to see where he goes and thinks that I won't see him. Love it!

 

They boys have become such good friends. They follow, copy, play, laugh, make trouble, sleep, and do everything together. When they aren't together they ask for "kee-kee" or "bay-dee". When in Arizona, Braden took a couple extra naps since he wasn't feeling great. I sat by him, and the second he woke up he said "kee-kee?". And we had to go find him. Of course they fight sometimes, but they are getting better at sharing. It is so fun to see them have such a good relationship and I hope it is always like that!
