I used to think I was pretty good at remembering to take my camera places and take pictures. Lately I haven't done too well. This post is mainly just for me to remember and document a couple other things we've done.
A few weekends ago we went to Utah for a fun weekend. We spent a day in Lagoon with my family and some of my cousins. It was lots of fun! I was worried about the boys, but they did so great. There were plenty of interesting people to look at to keep them entertained. We took them to the water park in the afternoon and they loved every minute of it. I still have battle wounds from that afternoon, but I prefer not to share the story.
The next day we all went to a Real Salt Lake game. It was way hot, but a fun game! I wish I lived closer to Rio Tinto. Then I would become a crazed fan decked out in red that learns all the chants and songs, and rattles off player stats like the people we sat next to. This is the only picture we got from the whole weekend.

Last weekend we went "camping" with my mom's whole side of the family in Ogden canyon. Really we drove up the canyon for the day and had dinner with everyone, then drove to my grandmas to sleep, then headed back up the canyon the next day for breakfast. That is my kind of camping- especially with two 1 year olds. It was nice to see everyone and the boys loved playing the the dirt with sticks and rocks and all those things little boys love to do.

Ryan and I have been playing soccer this summer which has been tons of fun! I played on a women's team earlier and Ryan was so awesome to bring the boys and come watch me every Monday night. I had a blast! I have sure missed playing. Now we are both playing on a co-ed team. It is tons of fun to play together and makes for a great date night.

Hurdle for Hope

This past Saturday we ran an amazing race. I absolutely loved it! It was an Extreme Race meaning it was pretty much a giant obstacle course. On the website there was a video of last years course, and I think this year was 10 times better! Of course, it was overcast and sprinkling on and off. Ryan and I have yet to do a race in half decent weather. The course started out going through a huge stretch of tires. My time chip broke of in this section so I had to carry it the rest of the way which was annoying. After that we did all sorts of hurdles. There were wooden ones of all sizes and hay bales. The obstacles kept getting bigger and bigger. We ended up crossing the stream quite a few times and ran/walked up it at one point. I was surprised at how deep it was! There were all sizes of hay bales stacked to create big barriers. Before the race we were told it is easiest just to jump and army roll off of them. ha! For a shorter person, it was quite challenging! We also jumped through a big bon fire, dove through a mud pit, climbed a few different types of walls like I imagine them doing at boot camp, and went through a nice soapy slip and slide. By the end my shoes felt like they weighed a ton from all the rocks and mud in them. We were dirty and soaking wet, but it was so much fun! I'm sure I'm forgetting some of the things we did. It was fun to do as a family, and I can't wait to do it again next year!

After the race we all went home, got cleaned up, then headed to Scoop Jams. For $10 you could buy a wristband and get unlimited ice cream. All the ice cream places in town had stations!. There were other stations trying to sell you things, live music, and blow up toys. It was pretty yummy. As we were standing in line thinking about buying a wristband, a lady walked up and gave us 4 extra tickets that she wasn't going to use, and the boys ended up being free. That made it even better! We were all stuffed by the time we left.

That night Ryan and I went on a little date to our cute niece's play in Rexburg. She did such a good job! Overall, it was an awesome day!

What it takes to get a picture

I post cute pictures of everyone smiling. What you don't see is the 10+ pictures that were taken before that one. I'm not even exaggerating when I say I have a minimum of 3 attempts of each picture I take. After that I either give up, or decide the one where at least 1 out of the 4 of us is looking will have to do. For your viewing pleasure, here is my attempt of some cute patriotic pictures.

4th of July

We had a great 4th! It is so nice to be back in Idaho Falls for this holiday! As much as I do miss working as a nurse, holidays are the times that I love not having to worry about working the day of or early the next morning after. We were free to party! ha.
We decided to opt out of the parade since I'm pretty sure the boys would have sat and watched it for maybe 30 seconds. And it was right during their nap. However, we did have a fun party that afternoon at the Eastmans. For dinner we celebrated at my parents house and had a birthday party for my brother. He is lucky to get fireworks for his birthday every year. Then we headed home to watch the big firework show. Again, we decided to opt out of going to the river to watch due to our two little munchkins. We were actually able to see them perfectly from our front yard though. There were quite a few people that came to our neighborhood to watch. It worked out so nice and it was about 100 times easier than going somewhere else to watch them.

Before you start feeling too bad for the boys because they missed out on all the festivities, they did get to experience it last year.
